How did you shaped these ingots ? Very unnatural look for me. Clearly, material was not fully molten and nicely fluid when pouring. Or melted directly in the mold, does Pd spit - and due to that you decided to grind the bars to these odd shapes ? I cannot wrap my head around this How the purity was measured ?

Wow, It almost looks like someone has melted good quality shot into amateur bars in an effort to make it more portable and less recognisable. It is interesting that random internet stranger has stumbled onto 125kg of metal shot (worth about US$6M) with a rather accurate assay that they are selling at the spot price in a very high risk transaction.

Some years back:
Thieves stole roughly $300,000 of palladium, a lucrative silvery-white metal, from the 3V chemical plant located in Georgetown. The burglars knew what they were after, too. Within an hour, they’d found four 100-pound drums, filled with a silvery-white substance almost as valuable as gold. By 1 a.m. they had returned to the waterway and retreated back into the darkness with the illicit haul — containing around $300,000-worth of the precious metal.

I wonder about the value disclosure and the effort the thieves went to for 6kg of stuff in those big heavy barrels, perhaps they were concentrates, hard to say. If I had millions sitting in the yard protected only by alligators I would also keep mum about the value just sitting there. If the drums were Nett weight then they got away with 4x100lb = 180kg worth about US$8.5M. Soon after arrests were made but no mention of recovery of the haul.

Hard to say if the awareness of C and O in PGM melts is a thing here by the look at the bars, they are foamy and very ugly shaped. So either they didn´t managed to get it up to temperature, or grinded off the sprouts and some slag/gunk that sticked to the bar. If it is palladium, of course.

It is very suspicious to see somebody who claim to own 125 kg of palladium, yet he obviously has no experience in melting it, pouring it and so on. And adding to that, with 125 kg of palladium, he try to sell it through the internet in small quantities... And melting obviously perfectly-ok shot metal to ugly, foamy bars, seems like torch-melted in some hollowed firebrick or another superDIY setup. Wrecking probably perfectly fine and nice Pd shot, which analyzed that 99,972% originally (probably labeled by the former producer), which will have added value for potential customer. I don´t want to imagine how much it must have been spitting during the melt and cooling... Yet, you are not concerned about loosing very serious money, and doing utterely contraintuitive thing - lowering the potential value of the final product on your expenses and time.

Exactly. And with that story you mentioned, there is simply too many questions. No personal meet-ups and hand to hand transaction, or at least verification of the material on-site with XRF, no means for yourself to drill a sample of that ugly bar. All by post, no trust in transaction happening, high possibility to buy precious metal gained by illicit means... Or simply some worthless melted metal bars, or even bricks, just to make the right weight for the package. No-no for me. Period.
