Omni circuit boards provides a calculator to determine the approximate weight of gold plating used for edge connectors. Provide the dimensions (Width, Length) (in inches), sides plated, number of finger plates (teeth) on pcb, number of pcb = 24k in troy oz.

I would beware of that calculator and the website.

In the text above, it says that the gold on typical fingers is 300 micro" thick. If the calculator (which isn't allowing me to get the total) is based on that, the results are 10 times too high.

He also says that the hard gold is 24 karat. You can't have gold that is both hard and 24 karat. Actually, in the industry, electronic gold purity is never measured in karats. Always in %.
