Are you crushing those? I bet you could get considerably more for it as a specimen, than crushing it just for the Au content. After weeks soaking in Whink a lot of the gold started falling off the host rock. The gold particles weren't connected some fell off in chunks trying for a specimen. But we ended up with over 1- ounce so nice rock from a metal detector find.
We were trying for a specimen, but it fell apart we crushed it then melted the concentrates. It's always a chore to find a buyer for specimens around here. Are you crushing those? I bet you could get considerably more for it as a specimen, than crushing it just for the Au content.
May every pan be so bountiful.Hand crushed ore samples with a mortar and pestle these little bits sounded off with a metal detector. Handful of rocks had 5 grams of pickers and a couple grams of fines. Found on early gold rush tailings a short walk from home. Happy Mining
Way too hot for me! My son and friend are game on no matter the weather. I'll wait until they bring the ore home at least partial shade at the barn. That makes me want to get my dusty metal detector out even though we don’t have nuggets here.
I can understand that. I about overdone it today. I don’t do heat well anymore.Way too hot for me! My son and friend are game on no matter the weather. I'll wait until they bring the ore home at least partial shade at the barn.
Worse the older I get. Got a minor heat stroke, good headache. Took 3 days off and got cooked 1st day. Working mostly at night now.I can understand that. I about overdone it today. I don’t do heat well anymore.
Just out of curiosity, why did he have to hide it?he hid it in his boot. Limping a little when he got home
Would you hike through the woods with $ 20.000 + in your hand? old price I would have been shaking so bad we live out in the country. One of my son's and friends are out metal detecting today on the claim even a small would be great. 91 degrees at 10 am some masticating on the brush happening will open some ground.Just out of curiosity, why did he have to hide it?
Not saying I wouldn't tuck it away in the bottom of my pack for sure! Nice find, the kind of story that makes people go out and buy metal detectors.Would you hike through the woods with $ 20.000 + in your hand?
