Hi ! As usually, i need some help.
I have tried to smelt about 4-5 grams of gold foils that was recovered from an gold plated pcb in a Graphite Crucibe,
It doesn't melt all that remained is an Ugly Slag.
My question is "Can i melt the foils without the AR Process, Or do i necessarily need to dissolve the gold foils in AR Then percipitate and melt it as a powder ?"

Or what i have done wrong ?

Thanks in advance.

Probably just not enough heat and too much of flux. Try to insulate crucible with ceramic wool and use torch again. Give it a time to melt everything together. Melted metal will be dirty and will need to be dissolved and refined again. It is bad choice to melt foils, they need to be refined if pure gold is your objective.
