I ran some CPU's in AP, the pins come off and sink to the bottom, they mostly turn black/dark color. With further inspection I find some of them are hollow (like only gold foil remains), some of them are soild (i susspect their is still base metal in the pin), but none of them look like other foils, Gold and mostly shiny. is this normal?

after I get all the pins together I run then in a fresh batch of AP just to make sure all the base metal is removed from inside the pin,
Correct me if I am doing this wronge?

The CPU's are the ceramic typs, no fiber CPU's

TIA

I was wondering about this subject.

If the base metal has to be eaten out from one end, it seems like it would take a long time, especially on very long pins. :?:
