i`m looking for info on safe disposal of ar and punching these keywords give me nothing, help anyone

Go to Safety in the board index then Dealing with Waste. This is a good place to start. One thing I have learned is that you do not want more than 28 gallons of waste on hand as then the EPA and DEQ will take all of the profits and fun out of refining.
In my area I have found a plating shop that will dispose of my waste after I have dropped everything from them for a fee of $12.50 for a five gallon container. I take the container in with a list of all chemicals I have used the lady chemist does a sample test then adds the contents to their waste stream and it is gone in a proper way that is safe to all.

Hello - for what it's worth, i drop everything using the filtrate from a wood ash filtering. This drops most metals in solution as either the carbonate or oxide, quite a thick mucky mess. This is filtered through a sand and panty hose filter, followed by a hot water wash.

The panty hose works very very well, I guess this is in part due to its high surface area and wick effect. End product is a gluggy filter cake which I scoop out and dry. Only remove that which is above the panty hose as this filter will just keep on keeping on.

The filtrate (mostly) is high in chloride and nitrate as stable Na, K, and Ca salts, and once evaporated, the nitrate is my source of Nitric acid (plus any NO2 fume which are capture during the many of the refinning processes. I hate throwing away good chemicals, waste not want not.

I use Poor Mans AR

I make what I can, buy what I can’t.

I make my own HCl, but that’s another story.
