"... we would not be having the issues we are having because we are united by a common interest."
This is very important note. Extrapolating to the world situation, we should be already united for higher and common interests because we do have real problems that affect us all. Only then we should spend the time on such luxurious waste of time as arguing about who prefers what and who has opinion on that... And saturate the media and all virtual space with this nonsense.

I know it won´t happen, but this is such common sense, that even people who always claim their "common sense" has trouble understanding :)

Most languages spoken today are considered "alive" because it is actively spoken by a community of people and adapting to new situations, or evolving. In the '50's if you said to an older person something was cool they would have assumed you meant cold, not the current first interpretation as being intensely good. So that word evolved in my lifetime. It is happening all around us. Ask someone what woke means and you will get many different definitions so that word, woke, is still evolving from its original meaning of awareness of social injustices. So it happens all around us, surely there are words in Norway that evolve as well.

The option is to speak a dead language like Latin which stopped evolving because it is no longer spoken.
Now a drag race involves guys in shiny dresses and lots of make up in stead of guys in loud machines and lots of smoke. Some dresses and high heels in the first scene, but a quite different approach you see now. Not saying I disapprove or support eighter of the phenomena.
Whenever there is any "debate" about current politics or state of affairs, or just any of today´s "hot topics" for daily experts on war, who become the experts on medicine tomorrow... I always ask if we/they can agree on basic facts, on which whole discussion is built. Because if we want to discuss or fight over any topic, we must agree on basic facts.
If we cannot, we cannot discuss. We can only argue inconstructively.

And sadly, this is what is going on in majority of "opinion clashes" today. Sides cannot agree on facts upon which their planned discussion should stand up.
And from this point, they cannot reach any agreement or opinion change ever - because there is nothing to coincide and agree upon from beginning.
So true, if you can't win the argument, attack the facts to be nonsense. Some cattle will always follow.
You can't argue with a stampede. Just step aside. Smack some rear ends to make them run faster and farther from you.

I have to admit I'm struggling a bit with the "slang" language of the newer generations.
It is like a whole new language.
In 50 years they will not be able to read English anymore.
If they can read at all.
I agree with the last part...they won't be able to read anymore! I've got 4 kids .5yr-15yr and the older 3 have me looking up the words they use to ensure I've not lost what they're talking about. For example my d-otter 😉 was in a good mood and as she got the answer she wanted from my husband about visiting a friend, she said "Dad ur so skivvity...ur a real skivvity toilet-rizzler! Thanks see ya bye!". No joke..I looked up skibbity toilet rizzler and there's an image of a guy's head being expelled out of a toilet. So I asked my daughter what makes ur dad so cool that the $#*+ eater would reject him? Cause I just called ur dad cooler than sewer rejected poo....wtf? She said no mom it means he's cool you should look it up....! OMFG. What?

Price of goldshould reflect supply and demand, but it is formed heavily also on perceived feelings and notions and most importantly, assumptions.
One important aspect is that the gold in the US reserve is valued at $42.22/ozt (the "statutory" price), so revaluing it at the current market price would generate a massive amount of dollars, enough to make a significant impact on US debt. Some speculate that the current market moves and demand for physical deliveries to US warehouses are an attempt to maximize this factor by bidding up the price.

What if they just bought 10 and told they bought 100 ? Or told they bought 100 and actually they bought 150 ?
There is a strong suspicion that China's holding is significantly larger than declared. But as you note, the possiblity of knowing for sure is remote.

To put this in perspective of likes, the number of likes a member has matters not to me, it is the content of the posts. I believe the forum ownership somehow manipulates likes to get more posts and attract more advertisers and in that way more income. It is up to us, the folks who post and fact check posts to keep this place a factual and a trusted resource. In our own little way, we make this place trustworthy.
For what it's worth. I use the emoji to show agreement or thank you if no one else has done so. It cuts back on reply clutter. If the admins gain traction from it that's good too
