Electrochemistry Gold foils in Sulfuric cell

Hi,

after doing +/- 4 kilo plated pins and succesfully creating 4 buttons i'm now processing some gold plated parts from switches the same way i did the pins. Now after a few minutes processing these items gold foils pops up in the cell. Can't find any info here about why.
Can i threat these foils allong the black powder the same way as i did till now with only black powder?

It sounds like you need to stop processing before you contaminate the sulfuric with more copper. The copper is dissolving instead of the gold. Two reasons I can think of is to high temperature in the cell. Or your acid has become to diluted.
