I am brand new and eager to learn. I find this entire subject fascinating. I did some panning many years ago in Colorado, and since then, I guess I still have yellow in my veins.

May I suggest you take some time to do some reading and when and if you decide to refine or recover some precious metals post your thoughts on the forum for the members to critique and or offer suggestions that could be a better/ safer way to proceed .
Remember we are dealing with some of the least reactive metals on earth and hence the chemicals/ fumes can be very toxic so be sure to be safe.
