Depends on the method of recovery. If you selectively precipitate, gold can be recovered first, or the platinum. I made the decision based on the difficulty of eliminating the dragged down contaminants. It's much easier to wash precipitated gold without loss than it is to wash platinum and palladium recovered chemically. However, if you have but traces of gold in solution with a considerable quantity of either platinum or palladium, it may be desirable to recover platinum first.

Also, keep in mind, the platinum metals are difficult to recover from dilute solutions, so if your recovery method for gold involves adding yet more solution, that should be a consideration, too.

Bottom line----there is no *right* way.
