hi there everybody! Im new to this I have to be honest I never really saw myself finding any gold in my life (I tend to stick to minerals like jade for example) and I often find myself falling into the classic blunder (bonus points for anyone who knows the movie reference lol) of landscaping rocks…I love them. I’m autistic and something about the way my brain works has always made me incredibly adept at spotting anything with a recurring pattern (morrel mushrooms, geodes, etc) ever since I was a young girl. Anyhow, the other day I discovered this, my first piece of gold!!!

Welcome to us.
I'm sorry to disappoint you but to me it looks like Pyrite aka fools Gold.
You see the square shape and its rough surface.
Anyway try to cut/scrape it with something sharp.
If it is Gold it will be soft and it will leave a clear line.
If it is Pyrite which is hard it will feel rough and there will not be a clear line.
