So I did an admittedly N00b thing my last batch and left some processor pins in a batch of gold flakes I was trying to process. I was using the HCL+Clorox method but got no result, presumably from the pin content. I guess my question is has anyone done this or know how to undo it, more importantly. My initial thoughts are to dry out the batch and manually pull out the pins with a magnet or something, but I can see some obvious risk involved there...there is a lot of dust and mud and I would hate to lose anything while trying separating...anyway...thoughts?

I wouldn't try to manually pick anything out.

Just finish dissolving everything, but expect a very dirty solution that precipitates very fine and very slowly. If you give it time and work carefully while washing you should get it all. But consider a second refining.

yes i am running it through the dissolve phase again right now...thank you for validating what I was already considering...I actually had just found a post on pin processing that pretty much lead me to the same idea. Thank God for this board!
