]Howdy folks,
I am a greenhorn prospector who has had some good finds, leaving me with a very healthy portion of specimens loaded with Visible color of various degrees. I am in need of some critical assistance from a more knowledgeable and senior enthusiast. Please reach out to me anytime, as I have an array of questions now that I have actually found the elusive pilgrim. Thank you kindly...

Looking at the blurry pic's, there seems to be a lot of pyrite, "fool's gold"! :(
Try a simple test, try smashing some of the golden grains... if they pulverize, its pyrite; if they flatten, gold!

Take care!

I agree with philddreamer . . .

Check the area where you found your sample through sites like https://www.mindat.org/ or https://thediggings.com/ You can also check for Au and pyrite through these sites.

Peace and health from the center of the 1849 Gold Rush . . . :D
