How long have you been refining gold or have interest in precious metals? : just started- brand new to this realm
What are you looking for in our community? : to learn from those who know, & to give observations in return , and perhaps forward any learned information, community.
How did you discover our Forum? : went down a rabbit hole online about old computers and then on TikTok found a retired gentleman that does this sort of thing. So I did a search for a community and found this forum.

Welcome to the forum, nice to know we can be found at the bottom of a rabbit hole! If you click on the link in my signature line it will take you to the library. Some reading there should help you orient yourself and determine what methods you can use to start your journey. Start by downloading Hokes book from the library as well, her book is a good start, written for jewelers to process their own scrap without much chemical background.

As 4Metals say, you are welcome.

I recommend that you show a bit of patience and study properly before you dive in in the deep end.

Here are some links worth studying:

We ask our new members to do 3 things.
1. Read C.M. Hokes book on refining jewelers scrap, it gives an easy introduction to the most important chemistry regarding refining.
It is free here on the forum: https://goldrefiningforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=19798
2. Then read the safety section of the forum: https://goldrefiningforum.com/forums/safety.47/
