Greeting everyone, I been doing this precious metal recovery for a time now with jus the acids, and want to try my hand at doing in electricly, Does anyone have any tips on where I could find a good design, to make a small one, to expariment wih gold pins and such, I have seen a few on u tube and have done much research of the scale of being in a glass baking dish, but unfortunatly not much infomation technical or otherwise as to construction, I come to the conclusion sulfuric acid is used and the cathode is copper (being the one the pins are in contact with) and the anode is steel. The voltage is another thing, thats an issue some use 12 volt DC an some use 6 Volt DC now what i cant seem to come to a conclusion to is what amperage they use, is that fact because I have to caculate that my self depending on the condudtivity of the acid i am using due to different impurties in diffeent acids any guidence in the rght direction would be greately appreciate

You got the anode and cathode backwards. The pins would be made the anode, which is positive (+). The most important thing is to not let the solution get too hot from using too much amperage. Otherwise, you will dissolve other metals besides gold and make the recovery of the gold much more difficult. Try to keep the temperature under 110F. I would suggest that you not exceed about 2 amps per liter of solution.
