Although not structural, iridium is essential, as the catalyst used to decompose the hydrazine fuel a lot of spacecraft use.
Yes, and that was the reason I used the terminology structural.
If the catalysts evaporates or change form it would just be less and less functional not decimate the craft itself.
Anyway the temperatures in space is not nearly high enough for any such thing to happen.
