On an attempt to precipitate gold I was left with a white disk in the bottom of the beaker. It broke up fairly easily into smaller flakes. it almost looks like wet sugar. Salts? Should I heat? Too much Sodium Sulfite used?

Refining Ore using Aqua Regia.

Thanks.

How much gold were you esitamting to be in the AR
What kind of material did you start to dissolve in the AR

7 Grams estimated.
Material was Ore with gold, silver, copper and platinum known to be present.

From what I have read I think ores are complicated and maybe someone with experiece will know better.
Harold was saying every ore is refined in a different way according to the make up of what that ore is
Maybe that has something to do with it

It very well may. I had an impressing blood red solution (AR) going. it went black when I added the Sulfite, it has been around 12hrs now and still falling.

My AR was green because I didnt inquart
When you inquart it is like carat juice
So I dont know what the red supposed to be

Did you crush the ore to powder
There is a good site that shows leaching of ore but I tried to find it and I couldnt.
Usually cyanide is used to leach and than what happens I dont know
You have to separate the liquid from the dirt.
Than maybe add zinc to the cyanide
