terrilynnlocke, visit steves website, you will find answers to many of your questions, keep lead and tin out of your mix, I assume you are asking about using HCl/peroxide etchant, the gold should not dissolve if done properly, but copper will be brought into solution, gold can then be dissolved with HCL/bleach. spend some time at steves website, I would not start a process untill I understood it all the way through, a little preperation studying can save much time and trouble scratching your head wondering were your gold is going.
