Question about AP

Hi all,

I was looking at doing the AP process as shown on Steve's web site, and was wondering if I could run header pins and fingers in the same batch, Would the copper and nickel do something unexpected if I put them together?

Header pins take much longer to dissolve in AP than fingers do. For this reason you should process them separately.

But I can use the same equipment and chemicals, right?

Yes.

You can save time in the process by removing the individual headers as they get fully stripped of gold. The lower grade the header pins are the quicker they will strip.

But the gold would not get striped in the process. The base metals would be dissolved leaving hollow gold pins.
