I have a pile of solder scrap and dust, which is a type of solder containing silver, specifically (96.5% Sn, 3% Ag, 0.5% Cu). I am considering methods to recover silver, including using HCl or HNO₃. Among these, the HNO₃ method has a better recovery rate, but I am concerned about the cost-effectiveness, as currently, the scrap solder is purchased at a price of around 22 USD per lb in my area.
