stanous chloride solution

my stanous chloride solution became opaque---it started as a transparent solution and after 3weeks became opaque----even opaque it still works for gold(purple) and pd(brown)
can i filtrate the solution with a fine filter paper to become transparent again? or must i make a new solution with sncl2 crystals(20grams +10cc hcl in 1litre of water)?

note :i have not stannous chloride at the moment---i have to buy it

I don't know if this is your problem or not but i have had mine change into a cloudy like color before. It seemed to be from evaporation. I added a few drops of hcl and it cleared up. Might try and see.

Maybe your container is not airtight?

To keep the solution fresh, placing a solder wire in the solution and add HCL will do the trick if solution is always expose to air
