What about doing things with leaches that are used in the industry?
There usually are reasons for a technique to not be used, especially if they are cheap.
If I remember correctly, this was brought up early in this thread.
Because thiosulphate is safe compared to acids and cyanide. Creates h2s and sulphur dioxide gas. Lot easier to deal with than nitric oxide and chlorine gas. And it works. Been electrowinning my silver today and it's gained about 8 grams already.

Nice 1 mate, what's your mix you are using? are you heating the solution or just leaving it for few days?

Heating it to around 100 F. Stinks a little but it works..
Ok thanks will give it a try when I get free time I never heated maybe that's my problem. Did you end up using some ammonia sulfate aswell or did you just stick with ammonia as the main component? I have still got that little gold bead just sitting in the solution and hasn't even changed or reduced in size at all🍻 🤣

I am doing silver mainly. No ammonia. Just thio and copper sulfate.

Here is a picture I have found searching the net over a few weeks. Can anyone understand the formulas given an write it out in easy to understand units like grams and mls
As the formulas are over my head. I don't understand Moles. I would like to try this formula as the only thing I can think of I havnt done yet is add any heat maybe that is key to the solution?
Thanks
Aaron

That formula can be a good one for Ore.
I work with Ore only
so my little knowledge is with gold and silver from Ore .

i never use too much ammonia.

always use dilute it ammonia at 25% or up to 30%.
never full ammonia.

I just use a little less ammonia and bit more Thio sulfate and I add Sulfate so can lower a bit the Thio sulfate consumption .

in google you can search how to convert Molar mass to grams.

If you going to use thio sulfate leach for ore.
You will need to learn how to convert molar mass to grams

the more you learn the better you will do it with
Thio sulfate leaching.

That leach is per liter of water👍
and always agitate the mix
so the warm solution can touch everything.

and given time at least 24 hours.

because every rock is different.
you can test
at different time (maybe at every 2 hours) take an example of the solution and check if there is gold in the solution.
if not continue to agitate for more time.

8 grams 👍.
always becareful dealing with those gasses.
H2S is very bad gas.
never lower for guard .

You do know that H2S is almost as bad as HCN?
And I do not know if they have concluded on the carcinogenic properties yet.
