I've accumulated powder and washing (boiling with HCl & water) some recently. Usually it goes well.
So I washed some powder in HCl fine. I then went to water and got this purple color fine purple sediment
Since the power is from accumulation over time I can't say what it was recovered from.
Any thoughts? What would be a pink color?
Thanks

Colliodal gold maybe? Try filtering some and treat that with AR and do a stannous test.

Or maybe there was some silver chloride in there that was pushed out by diluting with water. It could have turned purple in the bright sunlight you have it in.
My best two guesses.
Martijn.

Silver chloride. It can appear pink to purple in low concentrations. It is being darkened by the sunlight and should darken further with longer exposure.
