Welcome to us.
Sadly the refining of e-waste is no quick fix for amateurs.
It is hard even for the pros.
The biggest hurdle is to get a steady supply of material to refine.

Anyway here is something to study before you begin:

Thank you for your reply and the resources. I have been storing old motherboards and scrap for a few years, so have some trial pieces to use.

I haven't given up on working information technology, but I am aware that I have been blocked from jobs by a group of hackers. But I am not motivated to break the law or my moral compass for money. I'm not naïve enough to think "get rich quick" is possible. I am no stranger to financial struggle because identity fraud started when I was in elementary school. Someone older always used my SSN, but I can't get anyone to investigate or protect me. Organized crime that just won't get investigated. No surprises there.

Have a great day.

I have always enjoyed electronics and watched Yt videos about scrap recovery. I had a bunch of collected electronics and needed to clean it all out (was having a remodel and didn’t need any of it anymore) so I started tearing them all down to collect the components that had any bits of gold in or on them. I am getting close to trying to do the AP method and a pdf I saw had a watermark for this forum.

Ps I also have gone panning for gold various places in Indiana and have also bought a couple bags of paydirt just cuz. Currently have 3.63 grams saved up.

Welcome.
Youtube have for the most part misleading and downright dangerous videos.
There are a few exceptions.
Much better to read and study the books on the topic.
Heads up on AP, it is actually a Cupric Chloride etch and really do not need Peroxide at all, only HCl and air bubbling.

Here are some links to study:

Yeah, I didn't know that until I joined up. I see people in groups saying CuCl2 process and would like a step by step to preparing it cheapest way possible. I have a 6 gram piece of natural (I think) copper that was in a paydirt bag I bought a year ago that I thought I could use in the process somehow. I have muriatic acid, nitric acid, test strips, testing acid, SMB and a hot stir plate and beakers and a gravity funnel. What else should I have on hand? I want to process the placer gold I've acquired and about 1kg of mixed pins and fingers and ic chips including green and gold corner bga's. I also have questions about what to do with some 75% vinegar my wife mistakenly ordered to kill weeds. It says it will freeze below 70° f and store it above that temperature but that's not gonna happen. Can I use any of it in these processes? I was thinking maybe use it to clean up geodes or ore that I have that has a bunch of sulfides and quartz? If not I assume hazardous waste facilities will take it for a fee.
