Hi. I heard there was a rough culture here.
I heard some positivity could be helpful.
From a perspective it appears GRF is the engine behind the attitudes. Lack leadership.
My own experience and 1 other member that became active the same day as I, and 1 member the day after.

We kept getting told that essentially we and our idea of community do not belong. Review yourself.

We get fortune cookie reactions from mods and members to "the law" of the forum. Though those laws have not been posted.

Forum categories and descriptions are all wrong. Nobody has been able to choose the correct categories according to your mods and members.

.......hmmmmm, it seems like I'm correct on that if I were to believe the headings and descriptions.

Is this getting long? Shucks, I've been told that's a no no too.

Perhaps we don't belong as GRF is good with said discussions and the catagory they were placed in. However scoldings supremely delivered, prior to even a greeting or in the same sentence. Meaning GRF supports discouraging non-productive remarks. Especially from mods.

I would like my account deleted and a full refund.

Unlike GRF, I WILL not be silent.
If my refund is not granted we will have a much more interesting conversation.

However, I WILL share VERY REAL info with the world about GRF as a discussion learning forum. all the negativity, and within that, the lack of support toward just 3 of us in a 3 day period. I Suppose your financial hardship is not that bad, as new members are disposable.

We try to keep threads on subject. This keeps things in line with the subject asked when researching a particular subject. When somebody starts a rant about their responses given by the forum, in the middle of the thread, this is considered rude and disruptive. It shouldn't be tolerated in an adult conversation. This is not the first time this has occurred on the forum. We value all members, from first timers, through the people who do this day in/ day out. We hear your complaint. Hopefully we all learn something new each day.

But we tried to help you in the beginning before you drowned everything with your ranting.

I would just like to add that as a relatively
New member ( 2 years time flies ) that I found that these guys are all right . Take the time to provide details , research your question , try to solve your problem.
I have had great info passed on to me and I was really green . Ask yagersill, martijn , shark , 4metals, dark30, etc so many people have helped me out.
Man how do you exist have you ever had any tell you to tighten up.
All these people you are putting down have helped out thousands of time .
I was told to relax Nancy once and still take great pleasure in that , and I tell you why guys I work with for years and I have know for twenty years now would say something like that . It’s passion , toughen up , tighten up what ever Nancy but the people your putting down today haved help many .

BCDOCK we appreciate your support and hope we can help you in the future as any other member, we try and sometimes we fail but it’s not for the lack of trying.
You understand that we aren’t here as an Ai resource , we are human and mess up at times , we would like more member involvement but that seems hard to bring that about, we don’t encourage bullying but do understand the push back on simple questions time after time that have been answered time after time, by so few respondents
I’d prefer silent members chiming in , even if hesitantly,I certainly don’t bite , I welcome corrections if I’m wrong, and I am often.
Members join in and contribute, see the banner, we need your contributions to keep the forum relevant .

Pride is an odd thing. I don't take much pride in what I know so much as I do in the time and effort it took for me to learn it. Asking a question or two here and there is fine, but I take some pride in the effort I make in searching for the answers before asking. We all needed a little help now and then, but there is a limit. For me, that limit is reached fairly quick when the subject deviates from the original line of questioning, to some extent. When it goes completely off track like this one has, it seems a bit fishy, as if that odd track was the real reason for the entire thread. Even when trying to help others, I am still here to learn myself. Some ask questions but seem to forget, we don't know it all. We are human, so we may be completely wrong at times as well. This is why the no discussing politics, religion, gender and so in is a good thing. We talk to each other at a realistic, human level and share so we can all learn from one another, on a level playing field.

I'm bewildered as to why a guy can come on here and make over 20 posts slagging people off, and get "banned for a few days to cool off." Ygg I'm sorry mate- you and I are old friends but I think you should have had his butt off here pronto with that kind of attitude.

If he paid, settle him up and get him out of here. How is he ever going to be an asset to the forum? We seem to have a weird setup whereby we jump on new members, (which I don't completely agree with) but if they bite back we then allow them to have free reign. It's a bit of a contradiction in terms fellas

My 2 cents as requested Nick. I'd have given him one (polite) shot to redeem himself and then stopped the thread in its tracks for the good of the forum.

Edit: you can almost feel the mood drop when one of these people turns up and kicks off at people. Members stop posting, and it all feels somewhat tense. We don't need that.

You are right.
But as always it's not easy to see the things clearly when you are in the middle trying to tame the horses. There were two of them, one using foul language and Gie did not break forum rules very clearly he was just beeing disruptive. And as I'm the eternal optimist I hoped to mellow him down.
We'll see in a few days what happens.
