What is the correct term to use for this process; Silver chloride heated using torch to form silver metal? What do you call the substance needed to make a metal form?

Well first off you don't really want to be melting silver chloride if you can help it. Next if you will take these key words  Melting silver chloride and enter them into Lasersteve's search engine which can be found in his sig line  http://goldrecovery.us/forum_search.php you can find the answer in about 30 sec. This is another example of not utilizing the boards resources efficently.

I used silver chloride as an example. If metals were dissolved how can turn it back to metal form? :?:

I am a newbee here to but you should take the advice given GO TO STEVES SITE AND WATCH THE VIDEOS, I did and you will learn how to make pure silver the safe way.
