Thanks for having enlightend me. If my memory is functioning rightly, I heard the first time of MRT, attending an IPMI seminary about precious metal recovery and refining in 1989. So, this method is not very new, and may also be referred to as old technique, like solvent-extraction. Personally, I don't believe it to become more cost-competitive, at least in near future, and doubt it's role as a forthcoming wave.
