This kind of material is well suited for HCl/Bleach, HCl/Peroxide or similar.
Additionally the next step is to dissolve the Gold anyway so one can go directly to AR if one so wish.

I don’t think I’m going to go straight AR as I did that with the last debacle you helped me with lol, don’t want to get myself into that situation again.

I usually run those in AR. Or yggdrasils favorite, HCl and bleach. Funny how that works at times.

Actually I have never used Bleach.
Peroxide or pool chlorine is my goto Oxidizers

I was going to but then I freaked myself out because last time I ran a bunch of connectors, didn’t remove the tin first and ran into BIG problems so I figured a stitch in time saves nine right.

Yep, most of the time it does.

Yeah at least until I’m sure footed in my new journey, I did a stannous test on the batch I believe I screeed up and I got back a positive so my gold is still in solution when I swore I lost it

Ok so….I dissolved tin in HCL ( turned blue) I then washed and filtered until water was clear. It is now in AR, stannous test came back positive for gold in solution I’m about to filter solids out then add SMB to precipitate gold from solution

Ok guys so I’m truely perplexed now. I’ve added the smb to precipitate gold from solution, this morning I noticed a little bit of gold in the bottom of the two beakers it’s 70 Fahrenheit. I did a stannous check and came back super dark for a positive result, So I’m going to wait another day or two to see if it just needs more time or if I need to add more smb

Super dark says nothing.
It can be a lot of things.
Take a few drops and dilute it.
If neccessary do it again until you have a color.
Besides that it need to be acidic for the SMB to work.
How did you dissolve it?
AR or HCl/bleach?

Do not use Urea, use Slfamic acid or evaporate to syrup and rehydrate with HCl.
How much Urea did you use and how much Nitric?

I’ll take a pic of the stannous test when I get home in about 10 minutes. I didn’t add anything to neutralize the solution, I used AR to put the gold into solution, I didn’t get the dreaded metastannic acid this time so a big improvement from the last go around

I don’t have sulfamic so I’ll evaporate to syrup then rehydrate, how much Hcl would I use for that.

Just enough to get it properly liquid again. A few ml, maybe 10 or so.

Barely any just enough to dissolve it was 5ml
