Just wondering has anyone come across these processors I got the hammer out on this one and the die contained a lot of gold bonding wire but if went flying on me as I had to use a lot of force to crack the ceramic.

Certainly an interesting processor.
Lots of gold plating and this thick ceramic.
Picture 3 appears gold wires around the left corner, or is this just some plating?
First time I ever saw this processor.
Does the top have a label on it?
Would be interesting to know the final yield as it looks good.

Not a processor, per se. It appears it’s a fiber optic network interface IC? Not the same type as this one but similar function?

Here is a photo of the inside with everything intact yes a lot of bond wires but I think the yield with not be good even thought it looks great the actual processor is heavy I will weigh it when it cools down :)
