Hi guys, Aubee here. A long time gold enthusiast, total noob to refining. I'm so happy to have found this forum, with all this precious information. I'd like to express my gratitude to all members and contributors, I've already learned a lot from reading it, thank you so much!

I would like to learn about refining and especially all the processes and safety measures associated with it, and eventually have my own small scale setup. I have a lot of e-scrap that I accumulated along the years and have access to a bunch more. I'd be curious what I could get out of it. I understand it will be minuscule amounts and I won't get rich from it :) nevertheless it seems like it's a very fun hobby.

I started reading C.M. Hookes book and posts in the Library, and of course I'm chewing through the rest of the forum.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Welcome.
Keep on with your studies.
We recommend to start with Safety and then Waste treatment.
Alongside Hokes of course.

Her are a collection of links to study:

We ask our new members to do 3 things.
1. Read C.M. Hokes book on refining jewelers scrap, it gives an easy introduction to the most important chemistry regarding refining.
It is free here on the forum: https://goldrefiningforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=19798
2. Then read the safety section of the forum: https://goldrefiningforum.com/forums/safety.47/
3. And then read about "Dealing with waste" in the forum: https://goldrefiningforum.com/threads/dealing-with-waste.10539/
