making a testing karat testing solution

A few weeks ago I came across a thread about making karat testing solution
Harold and Gsp made a few comments and I liked it a lot
Now I am trying to fine that thread and I cant

It was not the thread about Schwerter's Solution in the evaluation section
I spend a lot of time in the evaluation section and I dont think its there

Gsp and Harold were saying you should have so much hydrochloric acid and so much nitic
If anyone remembers this please let me know

It looks like there was a problem with measuring the liquids
I am wondering if there is a accurate and simple way to measure
Otherwise I will be ready solutions as Gsp said he was using

During the first year, or so, we had only about half as many categories. I think the Sampling, Assaying, Testing category was added after that. Unfortunately, specific info on this forum can be anywhere and everywhere.

I would just buy them ready made. They are readily available on Ebay and many other places on the internet. If you're in a city, jewelry supply companies carry them. They are quite inexpensive and the ones I have bought worked well and were reliable.
