Lots of good info😁 here is the process I did and hopefully some pics so I can get a clearer understanding on what I did😁
1: 15 lbs of flat screen tv boards, scrap everything off that wasn't gold, washed ,rinsed and dried them.
2: put in bucket with a 2 to 1 ratio of HCL ( mau

End result after a first wash with distilled water, and that is the state it is in at the moment, so is it contaminated, and do we know with what?? Or do I do what Adam had suggested and start giving it HCL washes and see if it goes away??

Much different than I thought.
I was under impression you started with AP not AR.
Regardless yes you took several metals into your AR.
Yes boil with HCl, rinse real well and do the AR get metals in solution add some mils of sulfuric acid filter real well then SMB sodium metabisulfite again.
Until you get all the base metals cleaned out.
You will see the gold powder getting cleaned up (color more brown and then even lighter) and looking much better holding tighter together.
Less powder like (clumping together better).

The cloudiness is probably Copper(I)Chloride.
It is insoluble in water.
You should have done a few HCl washes before you added water.
The blueish color is probably colloids.

Try to filter the solution off and redissolve the remaining solids using different reactants that should clean up your gold.

Curious as to what the sulfuric will do?? Just to have a better understanding.
Had used AP to clean the boards, then AR . Sorry for any confusion😁😁

Do you know which of the metals would cause the purple powder? I will do the HCI washes after a little more research. Trying to understand which metal I picked up, first time in five runs that this has come up. My thought is if I know, I can maybe relook at process and avoid the extra use of chemicals in the future😁😁
