What information you need sirWelcome to us.
But you have not given us enough information allow us to help you.
Edit to add:
Study this first.
We ask our new members to do 3 things.
1. Read C.M. Hokes book on refining jewelers scrap, it gives an easy introduction to the most important chemistry regarding refining.
It is free here on the forum: Screen Readable Copy of Hoke's Book
2. Then read the safety section of the forum: Safety
3. And then read about "Dealing with waste" in the forum: Dealing with Waste
Suggested reading: The Library

How many displays and how did you process them?
Done all process
What did you do after processing before dropping the mud?
Brown mud sedimented at last
What did you drop the "Mud" with?
But when I burn nothing happen
Gold do not burn, did you mean melt?
After burn mud get solid
If you by burn mean melt, you did not get it hot enough to melt.

All relevant information, I have outlined some in my second reply. What information you need sir
Edited by moderator: Do not add double quotes
200grams stripsSee comments in the quote.
I would guess this will yield little Gold probably less than a gram.200grams strips
1)Nitric acid process
2)aqua regia process
3)urea added till reaction stops
4)smb added next day filtered
5)I burn the brown settled mud using gas hand burner
Thank you for your reply sirI would guess this will yield little Gold probably less than a gram.
1. You used Nitric to loosen the foils?
Quick but not cheap method, half Nitric and half water?
2. Then you dissolved the foils in AR?
This method would have been better to replace by HCl/Bleach, HCl/Peroxide or HCl/pool chlorine.
This will give no reason to remove extra Nitric.
How did you prepare your AR?
3. Urea has no place in refining as it can create explosive compounds.
The best method is to not use more Nitric than needed, second best is Sulfamic acid to deNOx the solution.
Cement it on Copper add more Gold to spend the extra Nitric or bubble SO2 through the solution.
4. Before the SMB, did you add a drop or two with Sulfuric and filter it?
The solution need to be crystal clear before dropping the Gold.
After these steps did you wash it thoroughly in HCl or refine it one more time?
And after this you should have a light brown cinnamon colored powder, this will be quite pure Gold.
What you have is dirty dark Gold and it will be harder to melt properly.
Anyway, You need to have a melting Crucible which is glazed with Borax.
Use no more Borax after it has been glazed.
This melting dish have to be placed in a way that insulates if from the surroundings and you need a proper torch with enough heat to melt it.
1. Adding water to your Nitric (diluting it) will make your Nitric last longer and dissolve more metal per unit.Thank you for your reply sir
1)I didn't add any water in Nitric
2)AR - 3 part HCL and 1 part Nitric
3)(used urea )next time I use sulfuric instead of urea
4)I forget to tell one thing, I add sulfuric acid too But after SMB added
5) I used clay bowl to melt
BUT I DIDN'T USED BORAX
What should I do now expert?
I used LPG flamethrower gunMy guess is that you don't have enough heat to melt your powder. I had the same problem when I first started out trying to use a propane torch. What are you using for heat? Maybe you can upload a photo?
(Propane will do, or even better Oxyacetylene)1. Adding water to your Nitric (diluting it) will make your Nitric last longer and dissolve more metal per unit.
2. We never use AR that way, add HCl to cover the Gold you are supposed to dissolve, then add Nitric in small increments until the Gold is dissolved.
In this case, max 1-3 ml of Nitric.
3. If you use AR as I have told you you do not need to add any Sulfamic not Sulfuric for deNOxing.
But anyway add a couple of drops of Sulfuric to precipitate any Lead in the solution.
4. Adding after SMB has no effect. But make sure you to filter your solution crystal clear as cold as possible before the SMB.
Now your precipitate should be a light brown cinnamon color.
Boil it in HCl and wash with water a few times and you are ready to melt it.
5. Warm your bowl until it glows red and sprinkle Borax on the inside until you have an even glazing.
Now this bowl will be prepared for melting the Gold.
For melting you need high enough temperature and enough heat to let the Gold and bowl to get warm enough to let the Gold melt into a button.
Propane will do, or even better Oxyacetylene.
It is the issue with your melting yes.Thank you for your's reply @ Yggdrasil. AuggieDog
so heating is the solution for my issue ?
Thank you![]()
Ok sírIt is the issue with your melting yes.
But I would have refined the Gold one more time before melting.
Hard to say since we are in different parts of the world.https://www.amazon.in/rajkot-jewell...=rajkot+jewellery+tools&qid=1686551493&sr=8-7
Product in the above link will work ?
But it is mentioned as Butane gas
Propane OR Oxyacetylene torch is not available in online
I don't know why, but I had a very hard time with propane. I could get the powder to get red hot and get hard & crusty, but never get it to actually melt. I was totally new at the time; I use oxy/acetylene now. I think maybe it is possible I didn't realize it would take so long, and also that its better to have some fire wool insulation under the dish; I was trying to melt in a dish on a rock, and it was probably acting like a heat sinkHard to say since we are in different parts if the world.
MAP, Propane torches can be bought anywhere here.
Look at Sreetips melting in his youtube videos. He even melts Palladium this way.
Sometimes one need to add two torches.
