Howdy, before I begin I just have to say that it is such a time warp to once again be asked a/s/l ? AZ Here. Wow AOL. Good ol days, anyway.
Howdy , Im Dustin, hail out of Phoenix, born and raised and they have yet to make me leave. As late of a 30 as you can get, a male, or bro as the kids say these days. My trade was water treatment and purification technologies. Do a lot of work cleaning up the AZ water and more and more I am interested in everything. Long hair doesnt cover up a redneck or a green horn. (Thx Jackyl) I am new but I love to learn I have done as much reading as I can, watched a few videos but TBH, as we know, YouTube takes a mighty large effort to get at the source of information sometimes. (Ever try to find a good car repair video?) I have been reading all i can from the AZGS reports and although I am not a student of geological proclivity, I have been enamored with learning about the earth. What really gets me is how much was going around me that I never noticed until now. Not sure when i started trying to prospect. TBH i wouldnt yet call myself a prospector perhaps a prospect prospector. I don't want to ramble so to the skinny. I believe that I have stumbled onto a little peice of rich copper ore that fell into the roadway near a mine in which they are chewing up the whole mountain. Thankful the huge boulder didnt wreck the truck but I recognized instantly this was a neat specimen. Here is the deal. Based off what I have learned and can assume from what i know about this area. (Lifelong neighbor) this is perhaps a copper porphrory or at least i thought it was copper. I am leaning more towards it being more of a cinnabar but i dont know. If anyone out there, which after reading the posts about mercury and exteacting it from cinnabar, tell me anything about this knowledge base then perhaps I have found the right folks.
I am sincerely into this stuff, but I want to do it right. I want to live, not out for money. I am no stranger to working as my hands can show and any info, or opportunities I can find would be appreciated beyond all these words above and below.
Also if anyone is out there looking for good help or an apprentice I am at a fortunate time to be able to do this. Ill work for knowledge, not even looking to get paid.
I appreciate it and thank you all for reading. Green greetings and Happy Holidays!
(pics are a few shots of the rock i mentioned. Sorry i dont have much info about it I have done my solemn best)
