The Cripple Creek open pit, Cyanide leaches the bulk of the run of mine ore. They found an area with higher grade ore ( + 1 Toz per ton ), so built a floatation mill to run that ore. The old timers used to roast the ore first, then either gravity stamp, float, then Cyanided the middle, tails. If god enough samples, sell them as specimens on eBay for more than the Au content.
