Frogy are u still in commission to test my rhodium rock of hope, maybe it's galena, if it's galena I really don't want to touch it too much, it looks exactly like the rhodium pics,
Froggy has not been here since November.
This is a long thread and it would be easier to see what you mean if you explain which pictures you refer to.

Hello, I am from Iraq and I have found large quantities of soil that contains the platinum group. I extracted a quantity of pure rhodium that was precipitated with zinc metal and treated with hydrochloric acid. I want someone to buy the metal and help me with ongoing deals. If there is someone who wants the raw soil and extracts it, I am ready to participate. To contact kamil. WhatsApp 009647830860479 or email [email protected] This is my greetings to everyone

Why do you think you have PGMs or more specific lyrics Rhodium in the soil?
And if you dropped it by Zinc it will not be pure.
Can you give more details on how you tested it and how you leached it?

Welcome by the way.

I hope you understand me and sorry for the errors in the expression because I use translation. We examined some of the rhodium that we smelted. We extracted it from aqua regia, precipitated it with potassium chloride, then treated the precipitate with sulfuric acid, then precipitated it from sulfuric acid with zinc metal, then treated it with hydrochloric acid.Of course, the buyer will confirm the examination, and I am ready for any form of cooperation, and if you want to confirm the presence of the metal in the soil, I am ready to send the soil to you, and you carry out the filtration process, within the percentage that you deem appropriate.Note: I also have platinum salts, but I focus on rhodium.

What does the assay say?

Time for more coffee.
The test is a metal that does not dissolve in nitric acid or hydrochloric acid, and its color is silver, with a density of 12,4 so it is rhodium. But I want you to know that we here lack modern methods, so I will discuss with you a way to work. Thank you for your understanding

I have one of the most experienced pgm labs right here in my backyard, Send me a pm and I will have your ore looked at, and if it holds any value, I can have it all proccessed with a small plasma arc furnace (best &safest recovery available), But I have to warn you , if your bullshitting me , I do not take kindly to anyone wasting my time, and thats a fact........Frog
How does one get ahold of you to analyze a sample? Thank you..I had a xray and know I need more, it showed several reading with Rh in my sample and Pl..Ms. Kris in Az.. [email protected] ..I can then send sample or picture and if a small fee is ok, I am serious.

Hi Froggy, I had some samples I found tested with the hand held Xray gun (at PMR Refinery) , and it tested for Rh and a few other precious metals, I treated it with the one thing I could get easy: Hydrocloric Acid and then the remaining grains tested even higher at 5.xxx...something, so I sent in 1.5 oz. to Specialty Metals but they are charging me $400 to Fire Assay and they said they can do "other senstativity testing" and go from there.(hope they are being fair to me) My rock I found with Prec. Metals is about 200pd, I am new at this, but if you can test for cheaper and help me sell it, I will pay a normal price, you must be cheaper than Specialty Metals, but they are reputable as very good and current standard testing, I asked for paper certification, at that price if I got enough to process and sell the rest. If you can test or get a button or what ever my rock with precious metels has, i can pay for your services, if it is reasonable. Thanks!! [email protected] or 480-257-3321 home after 6pm Az time
I am aware and researched some, as my sample tested 87.xxx for Iron, and precious "rare" metals hide out in Iron, and other main leads/rocks, and only slight precous metals, or they wouldn't be valuable unless they are in small rare, specs through out the 200pd rock I found in a river bed...could have traveled from Canada or MT, as Dan Fried said those areas DO have those precous/rare metals, as they process them from there.

Welcome to us.

This is from Speciality Metals on how to Refine Rh, and they are leaders in this for a long time and with all the right equipment: https://www.specialtymetals.com/blog/2023/10/23/what-is-rhodium-oxide#:~:text=This is often done by,the electronics or jewelry industries.

Also, this answers many questions from above: EVERY sample might be different in it's purity form:

Rhodium can be refined through a series of steps, including:
  • Reaction: React rhodium oxide with hydrochloric acid to form rhodium chloride
  • Purification: Use chemical and separation techniques to remove impurities from the rhodium chloride solution
  • Reduction: Use a reducing agent, like hydrogen gas, to obtain metallic rhodium
  • Smelting: Heat the metallic rhodium to remove any remaining impurities
  • Further refining: Use processes like zone refining or electron beam melting to achieve a higher degree of purity

Nothing new here.
What you need to do is to somehow confirm what you have.
Anyway a single rock of 200Lbs will not be easy to neither treat nor sell.
It simply aren't enough to justify the investment.
