Hello Everyone,
This Forum is Absolutely Awesome ! More information that can possibly be absorbed !!
I was Interested in Precious Metals Refining but this Forum Changed that Interest to Action and I am now looking forward to some Great Things from the Refining processes out here. I have access to Huge amounts of e-scrap - Fingers, Cpu's, Ram, Pins & Connectors from High End Medical electronics as well as too many Pc's.
I will post up pictures of materials with starting and ending quantities with the hope of any and all suggestions as to how to best process the stuff and any problems I encounter along the way.

Welcome to the forum Chris.
Your doing the right things by reading and studying as that will give you the basics to get you recovering and refining successfully. Please note that I split the processes into two and that was deliberate, too many new members can't wait to get started and confuse the two.
Recovery is just that consolidating the values while removing troublesome elements.
Refining which is purifying your consolidated values.
Both are equally important to understand but without a proper recovery process refining is a nightmare.... especially with e scrap.
I wish you good luck and look forward to seeing you on the general forum.

Thanks Nick ! I have spent the past month doing the research and recovering the gold and other precious metals and you are absolutely correct it was a major task. I have now started the refining phase with my first AP Bath, actually I am doing two simultaneously, and evrything seems to be in order. I will be posting some pics and particulars of the starting materials
Thanks for the response

I think it's fair to say we all mess up, the beauty of the forum is that the information to retrieve your values is contained within it, you have to do your part and study and read, start with Hoke and the forum handbooks which are Fred as a download off many members signature lines, visit Lazersteves site and watch his videos, well worth buying as well and use the search function, top right of the screen or use the one on Steves site to further your studies, if you really get stuck or just can't understand something post a question, but be aware the regular contributors will know by how the question is formed whether your reading and studying and if not don't expect too much help.
Welcome to the forum.

How did you discovered our Forum? : Short answer, google. Long answer. I got my first computer in 1994. A Unysis 486DX-33 with 16MB of RAM and a 350GB SCSI Hard drive. I opened it up and saw gold! and got yelled at by my parents. Since then I have wondered how much gold there was in computers and how I could get it. I learned a few basics years ago after looking online, but now that i have a supply of parts I started looking again and came across this forum.
Other : I really really like bacon. I can not state this enough.

I would like to say hello to all of the members. I have never joined a forum before, so I am learning all kinds of new things. I really enjoy reading this forum, it has info that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. You all are really a bunch of intelligent people , that are willing to share your wisdom. I can't think of a better forum to be associated with . Thank you !
I have been doing some experimentations. I have been able to make my own Nitric acid ( The cold method), copperas, testing solution A (stanious cloride ) . Copper cement , and copper nitrate from the waste solutions. I'm not looking to make a bunch of money with this, just a hobby. I'm really more interested in the chemistry of it all. No ,I do not have a chemistry background. Sure wish I did now. Again, Thank you all very much for sharing your knowledge. Mhobson..
