Hello Forum Members I've gotten brave enough to introduce myself

Name : Julie
Sex : Female
Age : 28
Location : Grass Valley California
Profession : Natural Stone Fabrication at the moment
Hobbies : Jewelry making, collecting items of interest (sometimes only of interest to me), playing mindless games (bingo, slot machine, video games etc), finding out how things work and sometimes their impact on other unrelated things/situations.
Interests : Psychology mostly but I'm open to anything that grabs my attention
How long have you been refining gold? : -28 years (have not started/attempted yet)
What are you looking for in our community? : Knowledge - this industry/concept is completely new to me so I'm curious
How did you discover our Forum? : Referred by a member of another forum
Other : Don't take the 1st sentence offensively - I just have more respect than to join, post something, and expect answers to be spoon fed to me. Plus, after skimming over a couple of threads, I realized that the members here are highly intelligent and I didn't want to start out giving the wrong impression.
I think too literally at times so patience is greatly appreciated in these situations!
Happy to be a part of my 2nd forum ever!

I don't know you, but i'm sure that now after finding this forum, the only way for you now is up and thriving.

This hobby/profession can be very therapeutic as i have seen up close and personal after visiting and helping in a local project that hire the mentally impaired in e-scrap disassembly line.

Other: Am in process of setting up a 12 foot by 24 foot shop – am making benches including a balance table [I have a Metler optical mechanical balance(150g to 0.0001g), a Christian-Becker Chain-o-matic balance (200g to 0.001g) and a try-beam balance (2Kg to 0.1g)], a insolated table for torch work and a table for my faceting machine – I am also thinking of building a small fume hood using polyester fiberglass ( this will stand up to fumes from boiling 9 molar HCl, 8 molar and Aqua-Reggie ) It will need to have a scrubber to protect the blower.

Raymond,

Reading through your introduction I am sure that you have experience to share that others will value. I hope that you will find us an equally valuable resource in what you wish to pursue. I myself have no doubt that if you wish to refine precious metals, you could not have found a better group to help you to your goals.

Looking at your equipment on hand, are you thinking of getting into assaying?
