Hello All,
This is my first post, ive just found this site, and i can not believe the wealth of information contained within these pages!
Ive been looking for a site such as this for around a year?

Anyway, im from Essex, England, male 43 yr old, married with 2 kids, and have been extremly interested in this sort of thing for a while but have never managed to get round to doing anything about it..( lazy ) :!:

I started collecting copper in any shape or form, and in any quantity but this "proper PM's" has got me going.

I will try not to ask too many stupid questions at first, i will try to search for the answeres within this forum, but however if you do come across one of my stupid questions, please it may be stupid to you but im only just starting out and have so much to learn.

all the best
be lucky

1. Refining Precious Metal Wastes C[1].M Hoke http://tinyurl.com/mfnyhs (REV) (Free Download)

The hard copy is good for when your off line.

What type of recovery do you think you will be doing. Gold from computers, gold from rings etc, gold from ore. Their are a lot of different sources to consider when studying for how to refine gold or recover it.

Glad to have you on the forum.

Thanks! I will mostly be recovering from computers and other electronics but I am not going to limit my self. I want to learn all there is to know. I have started taking apart old computer equipment to see what gold I can find. Dose this book cover most areas of gold refining?

This forum covers most areas of gold refining.
Hoke's book is a must read Ammens is good also.
If you are just learning and want to do computer
scrap, you will learn the most from LaserSteve's
site and videos and this forum and taking notes.
That is the best way I can say to get started.
Just put safety first, and understand what you
are doing before you do it. Accumulate all you
can while you are learning, as it takes alot to keep
you busy, or the boredom sets in when its gone.
Jim

Thanks Jim! I will checkout LaserSteve's page and I have already started opening up all of the broken computer parts separating out the parts. Thanks again for you help.

Good to have you aboard. Good to have new people with some professional experience. Your job sounds very similar to what I did early on in my career.
