I have a small bucket of them...... they are low grade. I don't feel they are worthy of the time yet. If I run out of better material, then maybe.

The middle contact (normally open) is just a solid piece.
everything is silvered on top.
The thickness of the silver plating is visible after the burner.
people knew how to do 50 years ago.

Whenever I see a component which is the "wrong" color, I dig a little deeper. Microrelays, for example, are a pain to scrap, but when I do, it seemed like all the orange ones had gold plated silver alloy. And it's neat to have a soft fluffy ball of copper wire from the coil!

Those may be "signal" relays, which jogged my memory, I have 2000+ of these and arthritis in both my thumbs.

Yes, such small, microscopic relays are clearly not suitable for manual disassembly.
I read in your document that there may be relays with silver palladium alloy contacts.
this is already more interesting.....
If you do this alone, then I would look for a way to cut off the copper coil with a steel core from the rest of the relay parts....
some kind of matrix into which the relay is embedded.
Then cut off with one blow.
then pyrolyze the remaining plastic with contacts.
destroy the plastic.
then bathing in aqua regia, which will dissolve the brass and gilding.
Only silver-palladium contacts will remain.
melt them into one ingot and sell them, or refine them by separating silver and palladium.

Shame I never run across these Pd ones just whatever kind of Ag ones. But I had better luck with soviet potentiometers and relays

such only until 1977, then simple silver...
there are similar mp1-1 there is an alloy with palladium, but 13%.
Such contacts are easy to distinguish; they have the shape of a pentagon.
the fattest is MP3-2 until 1982.
It's 84% white gold.
however, the Czechs and Germans (Eastern) of those years can also surprise and delight.

old TESLA or RFT components weren´t that rich as soviet. Switches were rarely anything else than silver. And moreover, mainly TESLA wasn´t rich in PGMs in general. Germans used to make AuPd plated pins and some relays were AgPd, but TELSA only made few relays with AgPd30 points and that was basically it... MLCCs weren´t even manufactured in these countries, it was shipped here from russia.
And yeah, potentiometers, trimmers, majority of switches and caps - zero PMs inside.

TAN connector assembled mother + father = 0.3 grams of gold, sockets for microcircuits are green, and connectors, Lun relays are solid gold and gold-plated palladium 30%, all Czech Republic are not very bad.

RFT keys with gold and palladium, since I came across a microswitch, the same as their orange and gray ones, but instead of a transparent plate there was textolite - gold nickel 90, 0.3 grams.

I like how different countries name these connectors some call them URS (mostly guys who collect them for PMs - I do not know why, if it is due to some old equipment where they were used...), then officially it´s TAH connectors... And eastern guys with cyrillic correctly read that as TAN All in all, yup, they are good, but I had much much better connectors and pins from soviet stuff (like СНП connectors).

"Golden" LUNs are rare these days as it is very sought-after material, also all the known relays having AuNi5 points like some RP300s etc. Nearly no work around, you just dissassemble the relays, cut the points and macerate in nitric - job done. That is why it is going like crazy

Maybe they used textolite to cover the values inside I know these "microswitches" (funny as they called it microswitches but they were 3 cm big )

Cerams are good from all the sides of old eastern block. Plating is very solid in Tesla´s and also CCCP/RFT/etc stuff. But russian stuff was always a bit extra since they for a large part used old SMD´s and these are very much above all Tesla stuff/EPROM´s etc.

I was always jealous about MLCCs, as there simply weren´t any. Only on the boards from Bulgarian/UA/russia. And these were rare here. Everytime there was some offer of the old soviet appliances and boards from decomissioned soviet military stuff, I was very happy because there was so much more values in these and guys here did not know even about third of the values hidden on these, so I usually got them at very good price.
