How did you discover our forum? : By accident while researching on the internet!

Other: My uncle has always been a collector of many different types of things. He got me interested in coins when I was young. He also used to buy and save gold and silver scrap jewelry. He's in an assisted living facility now and I have the responsibility to prudently liquidate his assets to pay for his continued care. I came across this forum this past June while trying to find a reasonable source for his scrap pm's, and, in need of an intellectually stimulating hobby myself, I began the pursuit to refine. I hope to refine his scrap and make additional money for him, as I also continue to learn and play.

Probably should have done this earlier! Hey All!

Hello everyone! i actually came across this site while searching for help on how to process "spent" aqua regia for the other metals that may be in it. i.e. plat, rhodium, palladium and such

Welcome to the forum Shaun. You should be able to find any information you need here on the forum. If not just ask.

My first post,

Well I have to say that my eyes are blurry, and I am overwhelmed by all the info I have been reading. Only been a member for a couple of days but I did finally figure out how to download hokes handbooks. Computer literacy isn't one of my better skills. The handbooks are great and I want to say thanks for the time and effort you all have put into this site for the benefit of others. Say's a lot about the kind of people we have here. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you. I have already been trying to learn a few things on my own and as usual, i am definetly learning about the things that can go wrong. As far as safety goes I am pretty good about sticking to good practices and personal protective equipment. I am familiar with msds and hazmat from my firefighter days. So as this nubee stumbles along down gold strike rd, i will surely have a few questions along the way. Right now a very good frined has a pile of everything you can imagine. computer scrap, barrels of ore, assay sample the were never assayed, mines that he doesn't even know where they are!. To make a long story short, My friends father past away a few months back and left him with butt loaqds of equipment and everything else he had accumulated over the years of his life. His father was the secretive type and we always helped him when he would ask but he never really told us enough of what we were doing to really understand any of it. Now there are people coming over telling us that they were partners with his father and they are going to help us get rid of all the stuff and we can become partners too. I am sure you know where that is going so with that said, we just figured we will see what we can do with all this stuff and who knows ? Maybe it can be a worth while project. Again thank you all for all you efforts and someday in the near future hopefully I to will beable to speak some words of wisdom and help some along on thier way. I ill be talkin to you all soon!
